Restore and Explore Weekend
November 1-3, 2024 is Restore & Explore Weekend at Camp Birch. Packs, Troops and Crews can enjoy a free weekend of camping at Camp Birch and work on projects to improve camp. Check in is Friday, November 1 from 5 to 8 pm. There will be a short leader’s meeting and Cracker Barrel on Friday at 8:30 pm. Service projects will run from 9 am to 12 pm on Saturday, November 2. Wilderness First Aid Course (WFA)
Wilderness First Aid Course will take place Friday, May 17, 2024 from 6 to 9:30 pm & Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 8 am to 9:30 pm at Camp Birch. Wilderness First Aid Course (16 hours) or “WFA”, is a generic term that commonly refers to any training course that focuses on prevention, assessment, and treatment for an ill or injured person in a remote environment where definitive care by a physician and/or rapid transport is not readily available. Wine Tasting benefiting Tecumseh Council
Hauck Bros. Heating & Cooling presents Wine Tasting benefiting Tecumseh Council, Boy Scouts of America on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 6 to 9 pm at the Masonic Center (125 W High Street, Springfield, OH 45502). The cost is $40 for a single ticket or $75 for a couples ticket. Ticket includes 6 wine tastings and heavy hors d’oeuvres including Mom Andrasik’s Hungarian Cabbage Rolls and Charcuterie Table. There will be a Wine Pull & Silent Auction. Register online by November 16.

Golf Outing benefiting Tecumseh Council

Shooting Sports Saturdays
The next CHTB Shooting Sports Saturday organized by the Tecumseh Council Shooting Sports Committee is May 18, 2024 and is open to Scouts BSA Troops, Venture Crews and Adults. Range Wrist Band is $5 per shooter per session and includes access to all three Ranges. Ammo is an additional cost.
Dayton Dragons Scout Night
2024 Scout Overnights – Friday, June 7 or Friday July 26 – Break out your tents for the Scout Overnighters. As a Pack, Troop or individual family, attend a Dragons game, watch a movie on the video board, and camp out on the field – all for $25! Or for $14, you can just attend the Dragons game. Dragons patches are available for $1 each. 2024 Scout Night Games – Want even more fun? Come to a Dayton Dragons Scout Night. For $14 per Scout, your Troop can enjoy a fun-filled Dragons game. With each ticket purchased, $7 will go to your local Scout Council. Dragons patches are available for $1 each.
Cub Scout Fishing Derby
Cub Scout Fishing Derby is May 18, 2024 from 9 am to 1 pm at Camp Birch! This event is designed for Cub Scouts and their families to come out and enjoy the lake side activities at Camp Birch. Cubs will be participating in events designed to grow their education of the outdoors. We hope they experience the joy of catching a fish…and maybe win a great prize too! Cost: FREE for all currently registered Tecumseh Council Scouts & Adults; $10 for out-of-council Scouts & Adults; $10 late fee for ALL registrations after May 10, 2024!
Lunch and a patch will be provided to the first 400 people who preregister. All youth must be accompanied by an adult. No pets allowed. Space is limited. Remember to bring your fishing gear!
OA Spring Ordeal
Tarhe Lodge will be holding their OA Spring Ordeal on the weekend of May 3-5, 2024 at Camp Hugh Taylor Birch. Arrowmen, plan to come out and welcome our new brothers. Brotherhood conversion starts at 1 pm on Saturday. Ordeal candidates need to arrive Friday evening between 7-8:30pm.
Ordeal candidates are $60 which includes this years dues. Brotherhood conversions are $45 and include the cost of your brotherhood sash. Current Arrowmen are $20 for the event fee and Crane Card holders are free. We look forward to seeing you there!
Spring Camporee – Wilderness Adventure!
Scouts BSA Troops are invited to join us April 26-28, 2024 in the rugged outdoors of Camp Birch as we embark on a Wilderness Adventure where Patrols will be competing against other Patrols to score the most points possible during a series of outdoor challenges! Patrols and Troops will be responsible for their own meals over the weekend. Cost if registered online by April 15: Tecumseh Council Scout: FREE; Tecumseh Council Adult: FREE; Out-of-Council Scout: $15; Out-of-Council Adult: $15. Late Fee if registered after April 15: $10. Late Fee applies to ALL late registrations! Registration Deadline: April 22.

National Youth Leadership Training
National Youth Leadership Training will take place June 2-8, 2024 at Camp Birch. National Youth Leadership Training is an exciting, action-packed program designed for councils to provide youth members with leadership skills and experience they can use in their home troops and in other situations demanding leadership of self and others. Built on the legacy of past JLT successes, the new NYLT integrates the best of modern leadership theory with the traditional strengths of the Scouting experience. Through activities, presentations, challenges, discussions, and audio-visual support, NYLT participants will be engaged in a unified approach to leadership that will give them the skill and confidence to lead well. Through a wide range of activities, games, and adventures, participants will work and play together as they put into action the best Scouting has to offer.
Wood Badge 9-439-24
Wood Badge takes place September 13-15, 2024 and October 12-13, 2024 at Camp Birch. The cost is $150 for registered Tecumseh Council leaders, and $300 for all other participants. What is Wood Badge? Reflecting the best of nearly a century of Scouting experience, Wood Badge draws upon the most current leadership models used by corporate America, academic circles and successful organizations throughout the country. Wood Badge training was begun by Baden Powell in 1919 as a way to insure that the leaders of Scout troops were properly trained. Since then Wood Badge has been held worldwide, providing advanced leadership training to thousands of Scout leaders.Wood Badge builds upon the best traditions and experiences of the Boy Scouts of America and also draws from a wide range of courses within and beyond the bounds of Scouting to present the latest in leadership theory and team development.
