Tecumseh Council Summer Programs

Tecumseh Council has one of the finest outdoor facilities in the area. Located adjacent to John Bryan State Park and Clifton Gorge Natural Area, Camp Hugh Taylor Birch (CHTB) offers a variety of Summer Camp Programs for Scouts of all ages.

Summer Camps

 

Campership Application

To ensure that every boy can attend Camp Birch regardless of financial resources, camperships are available to any Scout registered in Tecumseh Council for a percentage of the cost of camp. The Scout’s family and Unit Leader must complete this application and return it to the Camp Director DL Kaufman at Damon.Kaufman@scouting.org or Council Service Center by March 22, 2019. Unit leaders will be notified of approved camperships by April 12, 2019. Camperships are awarded on a basis of family need. 

Camperships must be redeemed by the Early Bird deadline or they will be forfeited and VOID. Application does not guarantee approval.

Camp Staff Application

Have you made plans for your summer yet? Want a rewarding experience? Like to work with today's youth? Ever thought about being a Camp Counselor? We have lots of opportunities for you. Come work at Camp Birch for the 2019 summer! We are now taking applications for 2019 Summer Camp Staff. Fill out the Camp Staff application below and return it to Camp Director DL Kaufman at Damon.Kaufman@scouting.org or the Council Office at your convenience.

Director Position Openings

Aquatics director: 21 years of age or older

Holds or can obtain a Certificate of training as a BSA Aquatics Instructor. Holds or can obtain BSA lifeguard, American Red Cross Lifeguard. Able to be trained in Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED

Shooting Sports Director: 21 years of age or older

Holds or Can obtain NRA Instructor credentials in Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol, Co-op muzzle loading, and NRA RSO. Also will need to have, or attend NCS to receive Shooting Sports Director Accreditation. Level 1 USA Archery instructor. Some of these are offered along with the Camp school for Shooting Sports Director.

Cope/Climbing Director: 21 years of age or older

Responsible, able to climb, not afraid of heights, Methodical record keeper Cope Training and Climbing Training required. Can be completed at the Council.

Tech Director: 18 or older

Be proficient with Computers, Video editing software, picture editing software.
