Calling all Cubs - Grab your markers, fire up your imagination and design this year's Day Camp logo!

All intrepid young Cub Scout time travelers are invited to submit their design for the official 2012 Cub Day Camp “Blazing Through Time” logo! Draw your design on the 2012 Cub Scout Summer Programs Placemat and mail it to the Scout Office (326 S. Thompson Ave. • Springfield, OH 45506) before May 1. Be sure to clearly write your name, address, phone number and Pack number on the back. The winning entry will be used on the 2012 Cub Day Camp Patch and T-shirt!

*All Cubs are welcome to submit a design – they do not have to be registered for day camp to enter.

*Adult Leaders – print them out, pass them out, just be sure to send them back in before May 1!!!

*The winning design will be adjusted to include date, council and theme information as well as to conform to required production specifications for patches and t-shirts.

2012 Cub Scout Summer Camp Activity Blue & Gold Place-mats are available again this year!

The place-mats are FREE – just call the Scout Office at (937) 325-6449. Let us know how many you need and we’ll have them ready in time for your Blue & Gold Banquet. The placemats include information about the 2011 Cub Scout and Webelos Summer Camp opportunities as well as puzzles and other fun stuff!! 

So let us help you by giving your Cubs and siblings something fun (and quiet) to do during your Blue & Gold Banquet and help us get the word out about this summer’s Cub and Webelos Camp activities!!!

Cub Scout Day Camp - July 16-20, 2012

Join Us and Help Celebrate Camp Birch’s 80th Anniversary 

Tecumseh Council Day Camp is a nationally accredited day camp. The staff is made up of volunteers who are kid-oriented, creative individuals who have been working for twelve months to bring your Cub Scout precious memories that will last a lifetime.  All Cub Scouts - Tiger through Webelos - can test their skills at B-B guns, archery, swimming, boating, games, cooking, nature activities, crafts and many more exciting events – and don’t forget, Friday is “Water Day”! 

Packs attending Day Camp must provide at least two adult leaders each day. One leader must be a registered adult volunteer 21 years of age or older. The second leader must be at least 18 years of age. One additional adult for every five boys must attend. Leaders accompany their group through daily activities. A parent/guardian may accompany each Cub Scout free of charge. Any boy interested in joining Scouting and siblings in grades 1-5 are welcome to participate, but they need to register and pay the same fee as Cub Scouts. Older Scout siblings are welcome to come with the Pack and serve as Den Chiefs free of charge – but will not receive program materials unless they pay the full fee. All paid youth will receive a free camp shirt and patch.

Cost 

The cost is only $100 per participant if paid by May 25, 2012 and $125 after May 25. Adults are free.

Webelos Resident Camp - July 22-26, 2012

No price increase for Scouts in 2012!

Webelos Resident camp is a great opportunity for Scouts, their parents, and their leaders to enjoy a camping experience, get a jump start on earning activity pins, and have lots of fun!  Webelos Resident camp is specifically targeted for Scouts who will be entering 4th or 5th grade in the fall. Activities will be more challenging than those at Cub Scout Day Camp.

Highlights of Webelos Resident Camp

  • Expanded program: more activity pins and more “just for fun” programs
  • Family night dinner and campfire on Wednesday evening
  • Campwide activities
  • AND...a special “Mountain Man” program in which Webelos Scouts may join an overnight expedition and earn their Outdoorsman pin (space for this program is limited)

Cost

The cost is only $145 per participant if paid by June 8, 2012 and $165 after June 8. Two leaders per Pack are free. There is a $40 fee for each additional adult. The fee for family members over 5 years of age attending only the family night dinner is $5 per person.

Wolf-Bear Weekend - July 27-29, 2012

This event is an opportunity for Cub Scouts entering second and third grades in the fall to complete requirements for upcoming Wolf and Bear rank advancement. Programs tailored specifically for the targeted age groups will be offered. Wolves will earn two achievements toward rank advancement and one elective toward an arrow point. Bears will earn three achievements – including their Whittling Chip. Both groups will have lots of other camp fun including B-B guns, archery, swimming and boating!

Wolf-Bear Weekend is very popular and space is limited to 140 Scouts, so register early!

Cost

The cost is only $100 and includes one Cub Scout and his parent or guardian. Additional adults are $20. Fees include cracker barrel on Friday night, all meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday.

  • July 20 - last day to register for Wolf-Bear Weekend
  • July 27-29 - Wolf-Bear Weekend Campout!  

Schedule

  • Friday, July 29 - 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. check-in and campsite setup an 9 p.m. cracker barrel and campsite campfires
  • Saturday, July 30 - 7:30 a.m. breakfast in the dining hall followed by opening flag, advancement-specific activities for each age group and other camp activities throughout the day with lunch provided in the dining hall. Saturday dinner will be cooked in each campsite. The day will end with a campwide campfire at 8 p.m. followed by a night hike at 9:15 pm.
  • Sunday, July 31 - 7:30 a.m. Scout’s Own service followed by a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., then break camp
