Springfield Museum of Art Activities

The Springfield Museum of Art is celebrating summer by offering field trips and festivals to groups with children in their care. Field trips and festivals introduce children to artwork in the galleries and provide fun, hands-on art activities in the studios and gardens at the Museum. Dates are limited and are reserved first come, first served, so be in touch soon! 

Small group field trips 

Maximum of 20 children, minimum of 15 children

June 8, 9:30-11:30 am

July 5, 9:30-11:30 am

July 5, 1-3 pm

Large group festivals 

Maximum of 50 children, minimum of 35 children

June 15, 10 am to noon

July 19, 1-3 pm

$6.50/child (adults/free) = gallery admission + hands on art projects


  • The Museum does not have seating for meals but your group is welcome to bring picnic blankets and bag lunches and eat on the lawn in the park surrounding the Museum before or after your trip.  
  • Please plan to pack out your trash as the park garbage cans are limited.  
  • Groups may use the restrooms in the Museum during their lunch period.  
  • There is a wonderful playground near the Museum that can be reached by a short walk on the bike path.  
  • There is ample free parking for buses, etc. in the lot in front of the Museum.
