Climbing/Rappelling Training – Lead Instructor Training

May 14,  8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  There is no fee.  Food will not be provided, so bring something for lunch, dinner and snacks.

Subjects taught will be:

Belaying, climbing technique, rope types, rope inspection, knots, tied harnesses, anchors, rigging, rappelling devices, rescue from rappel, and Climb on Safely.

Recommended to attend: any adults (21 and older) interested in climbing lead instructor training. A climbing lead instructor is allowed to rig and run the tower (along with qualified assistance) for troop and council events with approval from the Climbing Director. Space is limited, but youth 18 and older may also attend for training as instructors (an instructor can assist a lead instructor or director in running the tower).
