Weekend a big success

The first Restore and Explore weekend was Nov. 12-14 at Camp Birch with more than 130 Scouts and Scouters participated in conservation projects Saturday morning, clearing more than 4 acres of invasive species from the Chapel, Council Ring, and Carmony Cabin.  Other projects included clearing the lake banks of brush and trees and improvements in Fallen Timbers.  A big THANK YOU to all of the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers and parents who participated.

It was really great to see so many Scouts and Scouting families come out and support their camp.  The year-around Conservation program at Birch has really taken off in 2010, and big plans are in the works for more educational and advancement opportunities in 2011.  Keep an eye out for spring events.
