NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Course

The NRA RSO course is nine hours long. Candidates will learn roles and responsibilities of an RSO; Range Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); range inspection; range rules; range briefings; emergency procedures; and firearm stoppages and malfunctions.

Each Range Safety Officer Candidate will receive an RSO Student Study Guide, a Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, an NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Course test and a Course Evaluation form. All other materials will be furnished for this class. No live ammunition permitted in the classroom.

Date: June 15th (Saturday), 2019

Cost: $50 (if not a registered Scouter, the course fee is $100), additional fees are required after the course, payable online for NRA certification of your credentials. Online Certification after the course is cheaper if you are a NRA member, but NRA
membership is not required to be a NRA RSO.

Space: 20 open slots, payment is required by June 1st to reserve your packet.

Location: Grimes VFW #1031, 1237 East Main Street, Springfield, Ohio (Rear building).

Start/End time: 8 am - 5pm. bring a lunch, water provided.

NRA RSO minimum age 21

Proceeds of the course are to be used toward the purchase of a Full-size Range Trauma kit or Range Support equipment for the Camp Birch BSA Shooting Range.
