Honor Flight

The next 2018 Honor Flight is Saturday, May 19.  For this flight, your Council Commissioner, Bob Hemmerly, has the honor of escorting a veteran for the day as a guardian.

Don't miss your chance to come put an exclamation point on a day that means more to these heroes than you can possibly imagine.  We are planning to take 110+ WWII, Korea and Vietnam Veterans on each of our flights.  They'll never forget the welcome home you give them.  It really caps off quite a day for these dedicated men and women.  Honor Flight Dayton once again asks for your consideration in being there to cheer and show your thanks for them as they deplane and head home with their families at the end of these trips.  This is a welcome home and a thank you that they all deserved but never really received when they returned home from their service.

All the flights this year are charter flights and scheduled for a Saturday 10:30pm arrival. But it’s important to note that in order to be in the gate area, you must acquire a gate pass from the American Airlines ticket counter and then process through TSA security all between 6:30-8:30pm.  They may close promptly, even if people are in line.  They are doing us a great service by staying open just for us, so please be early.  Representatives and Honor Flight board members and volunteers will be in the gate area with instructions, information and will be available for questions if there are any.  Announcements in the gate area are typically around 9:30pm.  Ticket counter representative will indicate the flight arrival gate.
