Last Honor Flight of the Year

We can’t thank you all enough for your help in welcoming our Veterans home on all five of our flights again this year.  This is to let you know that we have one more flight, on Saturday 5 November and since it’s right before Veterans Day, we’d love to see you all out there one more time helping to cap off a day that these heroes will never forget!  There will be another 90+ WWII, Korea and Vietnam Veterans on this flight.  And so we ask, once again, for volunteers and leaders to advocate for attendance at our evening receptions when these heroes return to the Dayton Airport.  We want them to have the welcome home most of them deserved but never got when they made their sacrifices for us all.  Thank you for your help in the past.  You’ve made each of these a wonderful night for our heroes.

This last flight is Saturday, 5 November and the flight arrives back in Dayton approximately 10:30pm.  To be in the gate area, you need to arrive earlier, get a gate pass from American Airlines and get through TSA before 8:30pm.  We encourage our active duty, retired Veterans, Govt and DoD employees and families to be in the gate, but anyone may attend in the ticket counter area by arriving before 10:15pm.  The Veterans that travel with us tell us about all their personal highlights of the trip, but every one is amazed at the outpouring of support they get when they come home.  Your help in showing them what heroes they are means the world to us at HFD.  Your participation means that our heroes know they are honored, know they are remembered and know that what they did to protect our home and way of life has not been forgotten and will live on in the memories of our children and our children's children.
