Tecumseh Council National Jamboree Troop taking shape

The National Scout Jamboree is Scouting's flagship event and you can be part of the inaugural event with other Scouts from Tecumseh Council as we travel to The Summit: Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, along the New River Gorge.

The Jamboree is a one-of-a-kind gathering of approximately 45,000 Scouts, leaders and staff. Over the course of 10 summer days (July 15-24, 2013), participants will expierence a showcase event of everything which is great about the Boy Scouts of America.

Go Big! Get Wild! is the theme of the next Jamboree and the BSA promisses an amazing experience. Programs at the Jamboree will run from daylight to dark. Whitewater sports, zip line canopy tours, climbing and the rest of the action will make up a huge part of the experience.

This event will also mark a first with Venture Scouts being welcomed as official Crews. Tecumseh Council has been allotted one Venture Patrol (8 members, 2 adults) and this Crew will be grouped with out Venture Crews in Venture dedicated subcamps.

Another great feature to the next Jamboree is there will be no need to bring all that unit gear. Units and staff will be provided with tents and cots (units get tables, dining flys, and cooking gear, too). A BSA travel duffel will be sent out ahead of time for packing personal items.

Register today and be part of this tremendous experience.
