Top leaders recognized at DKLF

The Legends of Tecumseh Council and the reason for our council's No. 1 ranking in the United State for our Gold Journey To Excellence rating were recognized at the District Key Leader's Forum on Feb. 16 at Camp Birch.

This annual meeting of top leaders in the council provided a valuable opportunity for not only updating all on the state-of-Scouting in Tecumseh Council, but allowed for the honoring so many who have made a difference in the council Scouting program.

LEGENDS OF TECUMSEH COUNCIL

Legends of Tecumseh Council were unveiled to great applause as Bob Meyer, Carl Conover, Greg Free, and Tom Rickey were presented with this prestigious award. See related photos below.

Scouters who are selected as “Legends of Tecumseh Council” are living legends of the Scout Oath and law.  They have exhibited such exceptional leadership qualities that their complete deeds can never be known.  Their Scouting spirit is forever increasing, even in the face of irksome tasks.  We so dedicate our forever more lasting tribute.

The “Legends of Tecumseh Council” was established by the council Executive Board in October 1993 to recognize those individuals who have given tremendous amounts of their time, money and talent to the Scouting program in the five county area.  Scouter’s to be recognized are selected by the executive committee.

This year’s recipients went the extra mile in 2011 along with many previous years.  Their leadership ensured that the council and Camp Birch will stay in business serving Scouts and leaders in the years to come.  The effort put forth by these individuals helped strengthen our local Scouting program.

DISTRICT COMMITTEES RECOGNIZED

District leadership teams were also recognized. Bullskin Trail and Lagonda district leaders were presented with their Gold awards, earned based on the JTE 2011 rating structure. Lagonda, Blue Jacket and R.E. Hadley were each presented their Silver awards for their efforts.

Each of the council committees conducted break-out sessions with their district chairs to discuss vital information.
