Honor Flight Dayton

Honor Flight Dayton (HFD) has begun to plan their schedule for 2016. Confirmed dates are 4/2, 4/30 & 5/28 with likely dates in the fall of 9/3, 10/1 & 11/5. Honor flight provides World War 2, Korean, and Vietnam Veterans the opportunity to visit their war memorials in Washington DC. Don’t miss your chance to come welcome these heroes home from THEIR Honor Flight! What this means to these veterans is best explained by their tears and their smiles.

The arrival times will be announced but are typically late evening. Units should plan to be in the gate area when the plane arrives, you must get a gate pass from the applicable airline ticket counter and process through TSA before the checkpoint closes, typically 9 pm. Last fall, typically over 400 volunteers were on hand as the veterans returned from their trip. Your participation in these homecomings means the world to the veterans, and it means the world to HFD as well. Your participation means that our heroes know they are honored, know they are remembered, and know that what they did to protect our home and way of life has not been forgotten and will live on in the memories of our children and our children's children.

Please consider bringing your Scouts to this event – it will be an experience they will never forget. For more information on HFD, please visit http://honorflightdayton.org/External Link or contact Bob Hemmerly at [Click for member's page] or 937-305-4979 for more information.
