Geoscouting 101 and Meteor Shower Event at Caesar Creek State Park    

Geoscouting 101

Geoscouting 101 is a geocaching event for Scouts and Scouters that will take place on Sunday, August 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Visitor Center meeting room at Caesar Creek State Park Copr of Engineers Visitor Center near the Caesar Creek Lake Dam. The emphasis for the event is to introduce Scouts to geocaching and geocaching to Scouts. Most of the requirements for the geocaching merit badge will be discussed. 

Also on Sunday morning from 10 a.m. to noon there will be a Geocaching CITO event to help clean up the beach area at Caesar Creek State Park. A CITO event means Cache In Trash Out. Any Scouts and Scouters are welcome to participate in this event. If you have any questions, please contact Rebecca or Alan Boyd at (937) 477-4154.

Meteor Shower

Caesar Creek State Park is offering free camping at the beach on Saturday night as part of their annual Perseid Meteor Shower event. Here is the information for the meteor shower event:

7 to 11 p.m. at the main beach • bring chairs/blankets • register for free • camping on the beach • games, crafts & stargazing with telescopes provided by the Cincinnati Astronomical Society • for more information call (513) 897-2437.
