YOU are needed to fill a very important role pertaining to the Officers that you would want to guide Tarhe Lodge for the next year.   Please consider running for one of these positions and be sure to cast your vote for those who do!

The following youth Officer positions are open for election:

Lodge Chief                                Vice Chief of Programs                            Vice Chief of Promotions   

Lodge Treasurer                         Lodge Secretary

To be eligible, youth Arrowmen must meet the following requirements:

- Be currently registered in Scouting, under Tecumseh Council.

- Be a member in good standing in Tarhe Lodge

- Be younger than 21 for the entire term of the office (which is 1 year)

- Complete the attached Petition form, including signatures, prior to the election.

Responsibilities for each of these positions is described below:

The Lodge Chief takes the responsibility for conducting the Lodge program to the best of his ability and

to the satisfaction of the membership; Shall attend all meetings of the Lodge, the Executive Committee and the committees under care of the Lodge Chief; Preside over all meetings of the Lodge and the Executive Committee; Appoint Chairmen of all current committees but may not serve as a chairman himself; Ensure that the other elected officers fulfill their obligations and responsibilities, and, when an office is vacant, ensure that the vital duties of that office are properly discharged by assigning them to a responsible individual until that office is again filled; Appoint the Vigil Honor Selection Committee in accordance with specified procedures; Ensure that the Vigil Honor Committee and Chairman fulfill their obligations; In consultation with the Lodge Adviser and Lodge Staff Adviser may call special meetings of the  Executive Committee of the Lodge, and of the Lodge membership; May create and name temporary committees with the knowledge of, or at the direct request of the Lodge Executive Committee; ln conjunction with the Lodge Secretary shall interpret and revise the Lodge Rules and Regulations as necessary; In conjunction with the Lodge Adviser and Lodge Staff Adviser shall plan and coordinate the annual Lodge Leadership Development (LLD) Course;  Wears the scout uniform properly and serve as an example to all in the lodge.

Vice Chief of Programs:  Assist the Lodge Chief in conducting the Lodge Program to the best of his ability and to the satisfaction of the membership; Attend all meetings of the Lodge, the Executive Committee, and the committees under his care; Under the circumstances designated by the Lodge Chief, preside over meetings in the Lodge Chief's absence; Ensure that the Chairmen of the committees under his care fulfill their duties and responsibilities and my not serve as a chairman of one of these committees; In the case of resignation or of a chairman under his position being unable to fulfill their duties, he shall assist the Lodge Chief in selecting a prospective chairman for that position; Ensure that all Lodge Committees and Chapters conduct appropriate and effective trainings, as needed for their area of responsibility; Plans, under the direction of the Chief, one of the lodge's annual events; Gives a monthly report at the LEC meeting, in absence of a LEC meeting the report is to be turned in by email to the lodge chief; Wears the scout uniform properly and serve as an example to all in the lodge.

Vice Chief of Promotions :  Similar to Vice Chief of Programs.  Leads the lodge in all promotion efforts and divides the tasks of promotion to appropriate committees; Provides new member orientation to all new members at the end of each Ordeal weekend; Plans, under the direction of the Lodge Chief, one of the lodge's annual events; Gives a monthly report at the LEC meeting, in absence of a LEC meeting the report is to be turned in by email to the lodge chief; Wears the scout uniform properly and serve as an example to all in the lodge.

The Lodge Secretary:  Assist the lodge Chief in conducting the Lodge Program to the best of his ability and to the satisfaction of the membership; Attend all meetings of the Lodge, the Executive Committee and the committees under his care; Record and maintain accurate records of the business conducted at Lodge and Executive Committee meetings, and have these records available for reference at subsequent meetings; Directly oversee the functioning of the Communications and Web Site committees; Plan, under the direction of the Lodge Chief, one of the Lodge's annual events; Ensure that the Chairmen of the committees under his care fulfill their duties and responsibilities but may not serve as a chairman of one of these committees; Gives a monthly report at the LEC meeting, in absence of a LEC meeting the report is to be turned in by email to the lodge chief; Serve as the Lodge parliamentarian and in conjunction with the Key Three shall interpret and revise the Lodge Rules and Regulations as needed. The Lodge Rules and Regulations shall be reviewed for compliance with National and Council guidelines on an annual basis.  Wears the scout uniform properly and serve as an example to all in the lodge.

The Lodge Treasurer:  Assist the Lodge Chief in conducting the Lodge Program to the best of his ability and to the satisfaction of the membership; Attend all meetings of the Lodge and the Executive Committee; Be responsible for the financial records of the Lodge, in accordance with National policy.  Be responsible for ensuring that all bills and debts of the Lodge are promptly and properly paid; Directly oversee the functioning of the Trading Post committee; Ensures that the committees under his care fulfill their duties and responsibilities but may not serve as a chairman of one of these committees; Be in charge of receiving all dues and other payments to the Lodge, and ensure their prompt deposit with the Council, in accordance with National policy; Plans, under the direction of the Lodge Chief, one of the lodge's annual events; Gives a monthly report at the LEC meeting, in absence of a LEC meeting the report is to be turned in  by email to the lodge chief; Wears the scout uniform properly and serve as an example to all in the lodge.

In addition, we need youths and adults who are willing to volunteer to help on numerous committees within the Lodge.  If you are interested, please let us know.
