A Note from your Council Commissioner

A large percentage of units have yet to turn in their charters for 2018.  It should be noted that BSA National has set policy that all rechartering must be complete and entered into the system by the end of the calendar year.  Additionally, many charters that have been received are defective for various reasons.  Your unit commissioners are trained and ready to assist with the rechartering process.

Our registrar and office staff deserve an opportunity to enjoy the holiday break, so lets make every effort to get the outstanding packages in and any defective charters resolved without further delay.  It is not acceptable to your council commissioner for units to assume that our professional staff will work thru to holidays due our inability to complete this task in a timely manner.

We cannot guarantee that charters received after 15 Dec will be accepted into the system prior to the end of the year.  If a charter is not accepted prior to the end of the calendar year, the unit will be considered unregistered.  Unregistered units/youth/adults are uninsured by the BSA, and your youth cannot advance or count time towards advancement.  Additionally, the unit will need to go thru the new unit chartering process.
