Youth Protection Training Policy for Tecumseh Council, BSA
In order to ensure the safety of the youth in our council, and provide them with the best opportunity to get all of the benefits possible from the Scouting experience, the Training Committee of the Tecumseh Council needs your help.
Effective January 1, 2018, the following is the Youth Protection Training Policy for all registered adult leaders in Tecumseh Council:
New Leader Applications
When an adult leader application is submitted to the Council Office, it WILL include a current certificate of Youth Protection Training.
District Executives who deliver adult leader applications to the Council Office will make sure the Youth Protection Training certificate is attached prior to delivery.
Office staff who receive personally delivered adult leader applications will check to make sure the Youth Protection Training certificate is attached. If none, they will inform the person delivering the application to return the application after the applicant attaches the required Youth Protection Training certificate.
Current Registered Adult Leaders
All adult leaders in ALL positions must have up-to-date and current Youth Protection Training in place at the time of annual re-chartering. Anyone who has a Youth Protection Training that will expire within the upcoming Charter Year must complete a new Youth Protection Training.
Any re-charter turned in with adult leaders whose Youth Protection Training expires before the next year, all effected adult(s) will not renewed until a new Youth Protection Certificate is presented.
Keeping up with this will help ensure that the program is safe for all registered Scouts and Leaders. This will help ensure that throughout the entire Charter Year, everyone is protected and trainings are up-to-date.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter. The youth of our Council deserve the very best and trained leaders.
