Annual Catholic Scout Retreat

The Annual Catholic Scout Retreat is being held at Camp Cricket Holler in Dayton, November 4,5 & 6.   Registration information can be found at:

Marking both the Extraordinary Jubilee of Mercy decreed by Pope
Francis, and the 100th anniversary of Catholic Scouting, Scouts
attending this year’s Catholic Camporee will have the opportunity to
earn the Blessed Are the Merciful recognition patch issued by the
National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS). This patch may be
earned for a limited time, ending with the BSA National Jamboree in 2017.

Planned events:
- Old fashioned Boy Scout patrol games (knives, axes and fire, oh my!)
- A First-Aid challenge (Help other people at all times & Be Prepared!)
- A pot-luck Fellowship Dinner (a Scout if Friendly)
- Opportunities to lead your fellow Scouts in prayer and scripture (Duty to God)
- Mass by Fr. Brian, our Archdiocese’s Scout Chaplain (a Scout is
- A service project, benefitting the local of St. Vincent DePaul shelter (a Scout is helpful)
- Presentation and work sessions to complete the NCCS requirements for
the Blessed Are the Merciful recognition patch.
- A Vocations Panel at Saturday night’s cracker barrel (satisfying a requirement for both
the Ad Altare Dei and Pope Pius XII religious emblems).

Cost: Each patrol is to provide one #10 can of vegetables for the St. Vincent DePaul shelter.
Early Bird: $12 per Scout/Adult for registrations received by October 14, 2016
$15 per Scout/Adult for registration received October 15 thru October 28

Planning info: Tent camping. Patrols should plan on cooking all meals in camp except for Saturday
Cracker Barrel and Sunday’s continental breakfast. Saturday’s dinner will be a shared pot-luck in the
K-lodge. Beverages, disposable plates, cups and utensils will be provided for the pot luck.
Registration includes camp fee.Tent sites will be assigned as registrations are received.
