When: July 26- August 4, 2010
Fees: The fee for the Jamboree experience has yet to be determined, but is expected to be in the range of $1200 - $1500 per participant. The fees will include transportation and lodging, entry in to the Jamboree, Troop and Patrol equipment, and pre-Jamboree training for the Troop. Additional costs for each individual which are not included above include spending money, uniforms and personal equipment, etc. Fee schedule will be determined and communicated to the Troop members. Failure to adhere to the payment schedule could result in loss of your spot.
Transportation: The Jamboree contingent Troop is in the process of planning all aspects of the Jamboree experience. Specific plans for transportation have yet to be determined; therefore the exact dates and costs have not been determined.
Youth Qualifications: Youth must be at least a First Class Scout, have completed the sixth grade or be at least 12 years of age by July 1, 2010 and have not reached his 18th birthday by August 30, 2010. Each youth must have been active in his Troop for at least six months prior to July 1, 2010 and have his Scoutmaster’s approval.
Applications: Please go to the national website http://www.bsajamboree.org and complete the on-line application. Print out the registration get your Scoutmaster’s signature and turn it in to the Tecumseh Council office with a $100 deposit. Applications will be taken in order that they are submitted to the Council office. Turning in an application does not guarantee a spot for the Jamboree.
Refunds: If you sign up and find that you cannot attend, you will receive a full refund only if there is an alternate to take your place. In the event that there is not an alternate available, a partial refund will be made based upon total payments made less any expenses related to contractual agreements made on your behalf. No refunds of the $100 deposit will be made after December 31, 2008.
Adults: Those adults interested in applying for adult positions must register at the website listed above and turn their registration in to the Tecumseh Council office by September 30, 2008. Selection of the adult leadership will occur by October 30th, 2008. There has been a lot of interest for these positions, so it is recommended that you also consider applying for staff positions to help run the Jamboree program. |
