Camp Birch Sugar Camp News

This year's Maple Syrup operation has started and the sap is flowing. We will be cooking sap as it becomes available to make Maple syrup that will be sold to raise funds for much needed projects at Camp Birch. The Maple Syrup will sell for $15 a pint and will be available as fast as possible. We will try and fill all the pre-season requests and have syrup available at the Council Office and Camp Birch. Mother nature is in the driver's seat to determine how much syrup is available. We will send out another notice when syrup is available at the Camp and Scout Office.

If you, your Troop, Pack or Crew would like to come out to Fallen Timbers campsite to help collect sap from the trees and see how maple syrup is made, we will be glad to have you visit. If you will have a large group, please let Greg Siva ([Click for member's page]) or Carl Conover (cbei@cbe-circus.com) know so we can expect you. We will start boiling by the weekend and will continue until the season ends. Currently we have 103 taps in use to collect the sap.

Scouters that have some extra time are needed to keep the boiling going around the clock to maximize the production. Please contact us so we can train and schedule you to cover a shift or two.
