Merit Badge Schedule & Scout Registration Worksheet

The 2020 Scouts BSA Summer Camp Merit Badge Schedule is a great tool to assist Scouts in choosing and scheduling which classes they would like to take prior to registration.

The 2020 Scout Registration Worksheet is a tool to assist Troops in registering their Scouts. This form is to be turned into the Troop Scoutmaster or Summer Camp coordinator ONLY (do not turn into the council office).

Qualified Leadership

Reminder for all units, while at camp your unit must meet the minimum number of leaders for the BSA Youth Protection Guidelines. To help with that, Camp Birch will not charge for minimum number of leaders your unit will for this, but there will be a $90 charge for every additional adult to cover cost of food and facility. All unit leaders must be registered adults in the Boy Scouts of America and be current with their Youth Protection Training.

1-10 youth = 2 free adults          11-20 youth = 3 free adults          21-30 youth = 4 free adults          and so on

Tecumseh Island for First Year Scouts

Tecumseh Island at Scouts BSA Summer Camp is Camp Birch’s program for First Year Scouts. We focus on learning Scout skills, getting to know camp, teamwork, working with others, the patrol method, and rank advancement.

Tecumseh Island is a full day program. Half the day is spent in Tecumseh Island, half is spent in merit badges. Scouts will take Swimming and First Aid the other half of the day. Scouts work on requirements for Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class, leaving only a few requirements left before they are eligible for First Class. 

We do not sign off on requirements in their book. Scoutmasters will need to review with their Scouts the information covered to make sure they retain what they have learned. Tecumseh Island Scouts will work as a patrol, tying knots, working on requirements, and completing an over night outpost on Thursday.

Summer Camp Registrations

Campsite reservations are now being accepted for 2020 Scouts BSA Summer Camp! Scout/Scouter and activity registration will begin January 2020.

We will be using our online registration system for Scouts BSA Summer Camp in 2020. Payment must accompany all registrations via Credit Card or Electronic Check.

You will need to be logged into your MyCouncil account on our website in order to process online Summer Camp registrations. If you do not have a MyCouncil account, instructions on how to create one can be found by clicking the “How to Join MyCouncil” icon at the bottom of our homepage.

Online Summer Camp registration is a two step process: 1. Reserving a Campsite and 2. Adding Scouts and Activities.

Reserving a Campsite 

On the left-hand side of our homepage, click “Summer Programs” then click the “Boy Scout Summer Camp Information” icon. On the right-hand side of the page click the “Register” icon for the week you would like to attend. Follow the steps to reserve a campsite and pay the $100 campsite deposit.

The individual who reserves the campsite for the unit automatically becomes the online Summer Camp registration unit manager and is the only one with permissions to continue with the next registration step. Additional unit managers can be added by having the original unit manager email a request including name and email address of the person to be added to [Click for member's page]. Please note that anyone who becomes a unit manager will have access to edit online Summer Camp registrations.

Adding Scouts and Activities

NEW THIS YEAR! You will manage the remainder of your online Summer Camp registrations on your MyCouncil page on the council website. Our website company has made improvements to this process to make registration more user-friendly and mobile-friendly!

  • Log into MyCouncil
  • Click MyCouncil (upper right side of page)
  • Under My Units click the button for the Troop you are registering
  • Click Registrations (left side of page)
  • Click the view button (this will take you to a DashBoard where you can view details about your summer camp registration)

To register Scouts and Adults:

  • Click Members (left side of page)
  • Click the add new button
  • You will then select how many Scouts and Adults you want to register at this time
  • Once you click the Save button, you will be taken to the Shopping Cart
  • Click the Add Information button to enter all of the registrant's data (contact info, special needs, t-shirt size, etc.)
  • Click Save
  • Click the Select Activities button to choose Merit Badge and Activity schedules for Scouts
  • When finished selecting activities click the Return button
  • Click the Proceed to Checkout button when finished entering registrant's data and activities 
  • You must go through the Checkout and Payment process to complete the request. Once you have completed Checkout and Payment, you can come back to your DashBoard at any time to manage your summer camp registration (edit or add information, change Merit Badges and Activities, etc.).

Medical Form

Parts A, B and C are required for all resident camps. Please bring these to the 10 day out meeting. Immunizations need to have a date accompanying them.

NOVA STEM Camp - June 19-21, 2020

Escape the great indoors and join Challenger Learning Center in a brand new, OUT OF THIS WORLD, summer camp!

Cost & Registration Dates

Cost includes one parent or guardian and all meals.

  • Early Bird $100 per Scout if paid in full by May 31, 2020
  • Regular Price $150 per Scout if paid after May 31, 2020
  • The last day to register is June 7, 2020
  • Additional adults are $30 each

Campership Application

To ensure that every Scout can attend Camp Birch regardless of financial resources, camperships are available to any Scout registered in Tecumseh Council for a percentage of the cost of camp. The Scout’s family and Unit Leader must complete this application and return it to the Camp Director DL Kaufman at Damon.Kaufman@scouting.org or Council Service Center by March 27, 2020. Unit leaders will be notified of approved camperships by April 17, 2020. Camperships are awarded on a basis of family need. 

Camperships must be redeemed by the Early Bird deadline or they will be forfeited and VOID. Application does not guarantee approval.
