Tecumseh Council Climbing Training

Tecumseh Council will be running another climbing director training program at Camp Birch. This training is the first step in a Local Level II Climbing Instructor training. This program including training is the safe operation of our climbing tower and use of the natural rock face in John Bryan State Park. It is a 2 full weekend course with the dates being:

                                                April 13 & 14   9am to 6pm

                                                May 4 & 5        9am to 6pm

The orientation night is Wednesday:  March 20th, 7pm to 9pm

All meetings will be held at the Camp Birch Climbing Tower.

The fee will be $60 for lunches and snacks (bring cash or check to the training) and supplies.

This will be what national calls a full, local "level II" instructor training for 21 year old and older. However, it will also count for those 15 years old and older toward IIT and Level I instructor, so if you have some older scouts interested that would like the training, they are welcome! Reserve your spot, as class space is limited!

This course is geared towards people who are interested in running a safe, fun climbing program, but it is also great training for anyone looking to become a climbing merit badge counselor, or anyone who would like to brush up on their climbing knowledge.

Please confirm your participation in the course by emailing Matt (mdk12@sbcglobal.net). If you have taken our course in the past, and still have a valid Local Level II Climbing Instructor card, you may be eligible to re-certify. Contact Matt for details. We look forward to hearing from you!

Yours In Scouting,

Matt and Rich
