2017 Popcorn Sale

Fill It Up Winners

Week #7 winner is Drew Price of Pack 66. He wins a Lego Star Wars Darth Vader.

Week #6 fill it up winner is James Nordmeyer of Pack 36. He has won a $25 Amazon gift card.

Week #5 winner is Braden Shumacker from Pack 3. He wins a gift card to Game Stop.

Week #4 fill it up winner is Justin McKinley from Pack 263.  He will receive a $25 iTunes Gift Card.

Don't forget to turn in a copy of your "filled up" take order sheet to be entered into a weekly prize drawing! Forms can be turned into the Scout Office or emailed to jenny.spencer@scouting.org. 

Important Reminder

Just a reminder that on October 14 Popcorn Take Orders are due - please order by container. You may place them on the Camp Masters website or email to Jenny at Jenny.spencer@scouting.org. The $1000 seller movie ticket form is also due as well. If you have any popcorn to return you may turn it in on either October 11 from 4 to 7 pm or October 14 from 9 to 11 am at the Turner Building at Camp Birch. All popcorn returns have to be turned in on one of those 2 days.

  • August 19 - Show & Sell Distribution at Camp Birch from 8-10 am by appointment only at Dining Hall
  • August/September - Conduct individual unit popcorn kickoffs
  • August 25 - Fill It Up Drawings start
  • September 11 - Inventory checklist due
  • September 25 - First Show & Sell Payment due to Council Office
  • October 11 - Popcorn Turn in Day 1 – Popcorn may be returned from 4 to 7 pm in the Turner Building at Camp Birch

New Commission Structure

  • Earn 2% commission by attending the Budget Training
  • Earn 3% by attending the kickoff on August 2nd
  • Earn 3% if at least 3 people/Scouts from the unit attend the Michael Beck Presentation on August 16th
  • Earn 2% by selling $200 per boy average based on your June 30th, 2017 membership number which is included on your popcorn materials envelope

Weekly Drawings

New this year we will have weekly drawings for additional prizes. Scouts who fill up a sales sheet can email their sheet to Jenny at Jenny.Spencer@scouting.org, bring in the sheet to the council office to be copied or mail a copy of the sheet to the council office to have his name put in the drawing for a weekly prize. There will  be 1 drawing a week starting August 25th.  Scouts drawn will come in the  scout office to pick up their prize. The final draw will be for an Xbox game system at the private screening of The Last Jedi.

New Popcorn Company This Year

We have switched to selling popcorn with Camp Masters Popcorn Company. We held a district kernel meeting and did a taste test and decided it was time for a change. They have similar products as well as new ones and they all taste delicious!! We will have plenty of samples to try at the kickoff. Their website address is campmasters.org and you will receive your login and password at the kickoff.

Best Ways to Sell Popcorn!

Show & Sell— Scouts can set up at a store front to sell popcorn; they could also set up at a craft show or festival.  Show and sells are set up by the district popcorn kernals and units sign up for these locations.  You can also approach local businesses unique to you community for setting up to sell popcorn as well.

Show & Deliver– Scouts go door to door selling popcorn, but instead of ordering the popcorn and coming back later to deliver they have the popcorn with them at the time. They collect the money and give the customer the popcorn immediately—no second trip!

Take Order—  Scouts go door to door or call people on the phone and ask them to buy popcorn.  You could also take order forms to work, family events, etc.  The order is then placed with the unit’s popcorn kernal and product is delivered on or after the October 28th distribution date.

Online— Scouts set up an online account and send emails to friends and family members to buy popcorn through the online site and the Scout receives credit for the sale.  This would be especially convenient for out of state friends and Family.

Hopefully someone from your unit came to the budget meeting so that you can plan to sell enough popcorn to fund your entire year of scouting, camping and awards. Under the Leaders tab on the website click on the sales tools for ideas to help plans your sale.
