National Jamboree

2017 Boy Scout National Jamboree

The Tecumseh Council’s Jamboree Troop is now full. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please email your name, email address and Troop # to Tara Corns at [Click for member's page].

The National Scout Jamboree is Scouting’s flagship event which is a one-of-a-kind gathering of approximately 45,000 Scouts, leaders and staff. Over the course of 10 summer days, participants will experience a showcase event of everything which is great about the Boy Scouts of America.

Where

The Summit is the new home of achievement, adventure and innovation in Scouting. Located in West Virginia, it will feature world-class facilities and a focus on outdoor actions sports. The Summit will welcome Scouts to a whole new Jamboree experience.

When

July 19 – 28, 2017

Cost

The estimated cost is between $1,500-$1,700 for each Tecumseh Council contingent member. This fee is dependent on what the local contingent Scouts determine to have as its tour plan. See the attached flyer for a payment schedule for event fees.

A non-refundable deposit of $100 per Scout is due at time of registration on the Tecumseh Council website (see Registration instructions below). The remaining payments will be taken at the Scout Office either in person over the counter, via credit card over the phone (937-325-6449), or by check in the mail payable to "Tecumseh Council Jamboree 2017" with participants name noted on check (326 S. Thompson Avenue, Springfield, OH 45506). 

Registration

  • Step 1: Go to www.bsajamboree.orgExternal Link
  • Step 2: Participant and a parent both create and register for free individual accounts with National BSA for 2017 Jamboree.
  • Step 3: Youth Participant completes on-line registration process which requires parental review & consent approval for youth registration.
  • Step 4: Pay a non-refundable $100 registration fee.

    • or register by phone, in person or by mail at the Tecumseh Council Service Center
      • Credit card via phone is accepted by calling 937-325-6449
      • Checks payable to "Tecumseh Council Jamboree 2017" can be mailed to Tecumseh Council Service Center, 326 S. Thompson Avenue, Springfield, OH 45506. Please include note with check that includes: 2017 Jamboree, participant's name, email, phone and unit #. 

Who

Scouts Requirements Include:

  • Must have current BSA membership with a Boy Scout Troop or Varsity Scout Team.
  • Must be at least First Class Scouts.
  • Must be at least 12 years of age by the first day of the jamboree or an 11 year old that has graduated from 6th grade, but has not reached their 18th birthday by the last day of the jamboree.
  • Participate in a pre-jamboree training experience.
  • Be approved by the unit leader and local council.

Venturing Patrol Requirements Include:

  • Must have graduated the 8th grade or be at least 14 years of age by the first day of the jamboree, but has not reached their 21st birthday by the last day of the jamboree.
  • Participate in a pre-jamboree training experience.
  • Be approved by the unit leader and local council.

The Fine Print

*The Venture Patrol must have 8 members and 2 adults registered by July 18, 2016, in order to participate.
